We are so glad to welcome you to the annual Naismith 3X3 competition in the beautiful town of
Almonte, Ontario. The following are just a few suggestions and reminders to help you on the
day of the competition.
LOCATION:
Home base for the tournament is the John Levi Community Center in beautiful Almonte,
Ontario. First aid services, washrooms, and a cooling room are all located inside the arena. The
registration table is located on the grass in front of the arena along with various food vendors
and a water bottle filling station.
The various courts are located in the arena parking lot or on Bridge St. Each age group is
assigned to a different court. Please see one of our friendly volunteers for directions to your
court.
REGISTRATION TABLE:
The registration table is located on the lawn in front of the arena. To help speed up the
registration process please send a single representative from each team to the table with all
completed waiver forms and to pick up your SWAG bags. Extra copies of the form will be
available on site if needed. Our volunteers have pre-packed all the bags, but are happy to
exchange the event t-shirt for a different size if needed.
PRIZES:
Prizes are awarded to the top team in every division. There is also a friendly 3-point competition
at lunch, an ongoing Basketball Trivia competition, and a prize for the team with the best
“uniform.” The originality of the home-made uniforms and team names are among the highlights
of the day.
PARKING:
Free parking can be found on the surrounding streets. Please be considerate of driveways and
fire lanes when parking.
FOOD TRUCKS & CONCESSIONS:
We will have Lanark County’s favourite food trucks and eateries present to enjoy while watching
the festivities. Also, a limited number of Naismith 3 on 3 t-shirts will be available to purchase on
site.
OTHER:
To best enjoy the day consider packing a full cooler with snacks and water. The tournament
takes place exclusively outside, so come prepared for the weather - rain or shine! There are
sun shelters on the front lawn, but space is limited so don’t forget to bring sunscreen and a hat.
Lawn chairs are also highly recommended.
NEARBY AMENITIES:
Gemmill Park, located right next to the arena, has a splash pad, play structure and beautiful
walking trails throughout. Take time to wander down the hill to downtown Almonte and enjoy the
variety of independent shops on Mill St. Keep your eyes peeled for the statue of Dr. James
Naismith and be sure to post a photo of your team with the statue to social media
#Naismith3on3. If you really want to check out the history of Dr. James Naismith in Almonte
head out on County Road 29 to find a historical plaque that marks the home where he spent his
boyhood years. You can also visit the Dr. James Naismith Museum, which presents his life
through pictures and artifacts, at the Mill of Kintail Conservation Area, which is a five-minute
drive outside of Almonte.
